To prevent birds hitting the windows. We had too many strikes and some died. The stickers help, but not 100%

Bought these to help deter an influx of birds hitting our large picture window and dying. They have almost entirely stopped since we put the decals up.

I feed a lot of birds, and one of the feeders is in a semi-protected area near an expanse of windows. We usually get one or two birds a year that panic and fly into the windows, but recently, for whatever reason, we’ve had more. These decals — stickers, really — have an iridescent surface that reflects light. You can place them inside or outside the windows. Because I have one large window that cannot open, I love that I can put them on the inside. I know for a fact that the birds see the decals because it took them 4-5 days to return to the feeder there, one that had been their favorite.
Because the windows are paned between the glass, I placed the stickers two to a window, one on the top one and one on the bottom, staggered, to give a better sense of solidity. I figured the panes already added some visual cues. You are supposed to place the stickers 6″ apart for best results, but I didn’t want to block the view entirely. After several weeks, we’ve had only one collision, and it was a soft one. The bird was able to fly away without knocking itself out.
I like the hummingbird designs; however, the stickers are incredibly thin and easily torn, especially since the design includes long thin beaks and other narrow areas. The material looks like mylar with a fake hologram glittery surface. Even though both sides have that looks, the non-adhesive side is more attractive than the adhesive one; the stickiness dulls the look a little, although the birds still seem to see it.
Although I wasn’t thrilled about putting stickers on my windows, I hated that my house was killing or injuring birds. This ended up being the best I could do. Most window deterrents don’t apply to the inside of windows, and these stickers, with their four different designs, ended up being my best option.

Hummingbirds were easy to apply and seem to be working. I have not heard any thumps on the window since the birds were applied

We have many beautiful trees in our front yard and several bird feeders. We also live in an area with falcons. When the falcon comes around the little birds immediately fly off in a panic and often strike our large living room window. The decals are subtle and help the birds to see the glass without distracting from the view.

Removal is difficult.

I think these are great for the kind of problems where birds randomly and accidentally fly into a window. But if you have a bird who is repetitively flying into the window, likely because he sees his own reflection and attacks it (territorial bird behavior), this will only ward them off for an hour or two at most. We covered our window with tons of these, and yet the bird still found a reflection to fly into.
The stickers were high quality and kind of cute, but not effective for the problem they are marketed for.

They are attractive from both sides and are easy to apply. The variety of silhouettes is good except one just didn’t fit in with the rest being much less graceful in appearance. They stick so well I do wonder how difficult it will be to remove them when the time comes. Overall I like them.

I love the design, the shiny surfaces on both sides and how easy it was to place. Also great amount in one order. Excellent deal for the money.
